I’ve finally decided to act on Celestes’ suggestions and to follow her lead, every now and then, which leads me to my point: my first visit to a vegetarian/vegan restaurant. The background story: a friend of mine is a vegetarian, so when we both got hungry, we had to find a vegetarian restaurant and here it is! In the heart of Berlin – Friedrichshain.
The restaurant called Yoyo Foodworld first opened in 2009 and is located in the Gärtnerstraße 27, 10245 Berlin (Note: Directions can be found here.). They’re quite popular as they’ve been widely recommended in websites such as Yelp, Berlin.de, tripadvisor and some other particular veggie sites. Heck, they’ve even got an own Facebook site.
Guys, I’m going to be completely honest to you: it’s not exactly a fancy restaurant. Neither super clean nor courteous. (Note: In fact, it seems rather cozy and nice. ) However, that doesn’t matter actually because the only point that will count in the end is the food. And that’s absolutely delicious .
The prices are quite moderate, if you’d compare them to other vegetarian restaurants and their ingredients are from local farmers. Furthermore, they’re not entirely focusing on burgers but also wraps, pizzas, salads, desserts (such as cakes and pies <3) and even classical dishes. The customer ship is quit diverse, ranging from different nationalities to different ages and generations but they all seemed pretty friendly and easy-going to me. You’re able to bring your own dog but smoking inside the restaurant is a no-go. The opening hours are everyday from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. and everything’s pretty much vegan-friendly.
